Frequently Asked Questions

About the Guild

What is a “casualcore” guild?

Insider Trading is a “casualcore” guild - a unique approach that bridges the gap between casual and hardcore playstyles. We enjoy the depth and challenge of endgame content like Mythic+ dungeons and raiding, but without the rigid schedule commitments and pressure of traditional hardcore guilds.

We understand that real life always comes first, so we maintain flexible scheduling and no strict activity requirements. However, we still aim for progression goals like Ahead of the Curve (AOTC) each season, just at a comfortable pace that works for our community. This creates the perfect environment for players who want to experience challenging content without sacrificing their personal time or feeling pressured by strict attendance requirements.

We offer two raid tracks: a relaxed group and a progression group, and we welcome players of all skill levels and content interests.

How can I join the guild?

Any guild member can invite you to the guild. The easiest way to join is to join our Discord server and submit a ticket to the officers or ask for an invite in the public chat.

Are there ranks and can I be promoted?

The guild is often likened to and roleplayed as a business. There is an executive team that is responsible for the overall direction and operation of the guild. There are various teams that operate the different functions of the guild and those teams have leadership positions such as Vice Presidents and Directors.

We also have a Commerce division which is a team dedicated to economic activities and making gold for the guild using investment via our guild stock system.

Guild Stock System

What is the guild stock system?

The stock market is our guild rewards system. It is a custom algorithm written by our GM, Fergie, that leverages real guild metrics via the Blizzard API to calculate a realistic value for the guild in gold - the share price is that value divided by the number of shares in circulation.

Do I have to participate in the stock market?

No, the stock system is completely optional. It's simply an additional feature that provides extra benefits for those interested in participating as well as rewarding our membership for their contributions to making the guild a fun WoW community.

How is the share price determined?

The share price is calculated daily based on several factors:

  • Active guild membership
  • Achievements
  • Gold earnings
  • Guild accomplishments
  • Market demand for shares

Higher guild activity and success in these areas drives the share price up, while lower performance can cause it to decrease. This encourages shareholders to actively participate in guild activities to increase the value of their investment.

How do I buy and sell shares?

Members can now deposit gold into a guild brokerage account and trade stocks via the Stock Terminal web app. Detailed information on the process can be found on our stock page. Shares can also be obtained by participating in guild events and for various other activities. It is entirely possible to earn a substantial amount of shares without ever buying any if you are an active member of the guild.

What happens if there are no more shares to buy?

If all shares become allocated, guild leadership may propose a share split to create new shares. This requires shareholder approval through a vote, as it would dilute existing share value.

Website Information

How often is the website updated?
